Central Park + Tribeca Engagement Photos | NYC Engagement Photographer
Brittany and Ben met and fell in love in New York City, so it seemed fitting to do an engagement session in the city even though they’ll be getting married in Brittany’s hometown next year. They wanted some iconic Central Park engagement photos, but also wanted to get some photos in their Tribeca neighborhood to commemorate this stage of their life together. I am so on board to get all the beautiful iconic New York City shots, and love it when we get to spend some time in a place that’s meaningful to the couple.
My jaw all but dropped when Brittany and Ben told me their engagement story, eyes sparkling:
The two of them were on a weekend getaway in Saint Martin. On the second day of their trip, Ben proposed to Brittany while watching the sun set from their beachside villa. He sneakily placed the ring inside an empty champagne glass, got down on one knee, and Brittany said “of course!” She had been hoping he’d ask on the trip, but was surprised nonetheless!
The couple spent the rest of the weekend celebrating with long beach days in the sun, delicious meals in the town of Saint Martin, and endless champagne. But the surprise didn’t end there! Upon arrival back in NYC, Ben was insistent on going out for a special, albeit secret, dinner. The couple walked into a surprise engagement party, where both of their families (visiting from out of town) and close friends celebrated over an Italian family style dinner.
Um, WOW WAY TO GO BEN!
Brittany got this gorgeous white dress just for her engagement session – Amanda Uprichard’s “Martinique” dress – it draped beautifully and was the perfect choice for a classic Central Park vibe. (It’s for sale on Rent the Runway in a pretty yellow – I’m tempted to grab it!)
We met at Bethesda Fountain bright an early to minimize crowds, and had the park almost completely to ourselves! Then we hopped in an Uber, B&B stopped at their place for a quick outfit change, and we hit up some of their favorite Tribeca spots – The Roxy Hotel and some cute cobblestone streets with views of the World Trade Center. All that, and we were done in time for their morning Zoom meetings!
I loved spending the morning with these two and hearing all about their wedding plans for next April. They really brought the glam and the session was filled with laughs and easy conversation. Although he wasn’t looking forward to the session, Ben even commented on how much fun it was! I couldn’t agree more, and am SO looking forward to hanging out with this gorgeous couple again!
